The Celtic football club has been excellent in the Scottish Premier League in the recent past.  They have been able to maintain their glory in the Scottish football by dominating the Scottish league. They are surely undisputed in Scotland having won the league title in five consecutive seasons. Though, some competition is arising since they were not able to clinch the National League Championship, which is one of their usual. Several changes have been done to the team especially in managerial positions. This means that the Celtic football club officials want more than just the local championship. Today, Celtic is in a position of finding glory in top Europe competitions other than just their domestic league and cup championship.

Celtic F.C Roster

After finishing celebrating their five successive league championship, Celtic football club should settle down in their training grounds and resume business as usual. This is because there are some really tight fixtures awaiting them. On 23rd July the year 2016, Celtic will be facing England champions Leicester City. This should be a fascinating event bearing in mind the old rivalry between Scotland and England. Both nations’ top teams will be clashing on this very day, a game which many takes it as a decider to know which country between the two is superior more so regarding national football leagues. A week later Celtic will be facing Spanish giants Barcelona. This is another thrilling encounter which will prove if Celtic is still the Lions as their hard-earned nickname claims. Both the Barcelona and Leicester City game will be played in Scotland.  On 13th August, Celtic will play away against Inter Milan. This game will be a reminder of the Celtic victory against the Italian giants in the year 1966 when they scooped their first ever European title.

With a lot of changes having been done to the team, Celtic officials have since promised a more aggressive side. Brendan Rodgers replaced Ronny Deila as the Celtic head coach. We all remember how Rodger almost guided Liverpool to clench the English league title in the 2014 season. Even though he has not related his new appointment with the Liverpool’s job, a lot of surprises are expected from this coach. Rodger is always known to utilize what he has. He does not need a bunch of top notch players to pull an exemplary performance. All eyes will be on Rodgers, and a lot is expected from him. To back him up, Celtic officials also appointed Chris Davies to be the new Celtic assistant manager. This seems to be a perfect combination since Rodgers described him as a ‘’magnificent coach.’ Celtic also has players with promising talents. Such players include Tierney and Griffiths. A lot is also expected from these players to guide Celtic to a bigger championship other than the Scottish league. With experienced coaches and promising players, Celtic generally as a team shows potential of lifting their bar higher.

Following their five successive league titles, the local championships are becoming monotonous to the Celtic football club. It is for this reason that the officials have done a complete overhaul of the managerial positions. Celtic fans and football fans generally will be keen to see how Celtic will perform in the top European competition.
